Title
Sprotbrough Hall - South West View - HLS06011
Description
Slide 3 - Sir Godfrey Copley, the 2nd Baronet, was an early member of the Royal Society, which founded the 'Copley Medal', the most honourable distinction which the Society has to bestow. To him, his successors owe the present mansion. Passing through a gate, we approach the South Front by a side walk. Reaching first the bottom of an ample terrace, we find ourselves in the midst of beautiful grounds, studded with rare and choice trees, and with a rich background of magnificent timber.
