Built over single storey aisle to rear is 2-storey early C18 gabled wing, with flat faced mullioned windows with double frames and square reveals, of 4 lights to ground floor and 3 lights to 1st floor. Housebody has ovolo moulded spine beams and to east e evidence of former timbered wall with closing truss of 'A' strut king post type. Over are flat faced mullion windows mainly of 4 lights. Right hand return wall has extruded stack, to supposed parlour. Built over single storey aisle to rear is 2-storey early C18 gabled wing, with flat faced mullioned windows with double frames and square reveals, of 4 lights to ground floor and 3 lights to 1st floor. Quoins, coped gable and kneelers. Interior said to have evidence for firehood bressumer. Housebody has ovolo moulded spine beams and to east e evidence of former timbered wall with closing truss of 'A' strut king post type. Attached barn of single aisle construction with square headed cart entry set in portal at arcade. This originally led to a cross passage. All windows are double chamfered mullioned, of 4, 6 transom window of 12 (now lacking transom) and 4 lights. Over are flat faced mullion windows mainly of 4 lights. Right hand return wall has extruded stack, to supposed parlour. Built over single storey aisle to rear is 2-storey early C18 gabled wing, with flat faced mullioned windows with double frames and square reveals, of 4 lights to ground floor and 3 lights to 1st floor. Quoins, coped gable and kneelers. Interior said to have evidence for firehood bressumer. Housebody has ovolo moulded spine beams and to east e evidence of former timbered wall with closing truss of 'A' strut king post type. Attached barn of single aisle construction with square headed cart entry set in portal at arcade. Of C17 appearance Wyn Westerdale, Law, Southowram (Report for Manchester University - unpublished).&#13;

Stable block, later cottages to Law Hill House. Late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys to main facade. Attic in gable end which is monumentally treated with bands and largely blocked Venetian window in apex. This and round headed doorway have impost blocks and keystone. The main front has a similar doorway and stair window above, the later with Gothic glazing bars. One 4-light flat faced mullioned window survives and others blocked. After 1825 it was converted into a school for young ladies. Emily Bronte taught here 1837/8 and mentions the building in her writings. D. Mill, now engineering works, 1831. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 4 storeys. Front to road has pediment end gable enclosing plaque which reads "PERSEVERANCE MILL ERECTED 1831', sill bands to each floor. 3 bays, symmetrical. Central bay breaks forward and has 3 large taking-in doors, lowest reduced for window. Outer bays recessed have window with lintel but no jambs. Left hand return wall fronts canal has 10 bays of similar windows with projecting sills to each floor. Moulded cornice.&#13;
