Designed by John Gibson of Westminster, this imposing building has a northern end which is semi-circular. In 1906 the York Street Sunday School was replaced with what is now the Central Methodist Church. York Street Chapel closed in 1942 and the congregation amalgamated with those from Bridge Street Chapel in the Central Methodist Church. York Street Chapel was demolished in 1962.
