Title

Stone Laying, Hebden Bridge, 1904 - LLG00761

Description

Stone laying ceremony, 1904, for Foster Lane Methodist Chapel, Hebden Bridge. The finished chapel was a fine building, designed by William Henry Cockcroft which replaced the tin tabernacle, it was officially opened 28th June 1905 and demolished in the 1960s. The relatively short life of the chapel was a good illustration of the rapidly changing times.
