Description
This view is very different today, the main thing being the number of chimneys that have gone, along with many of the mills. The Piece Hall can be seen top centre and the clock tower of the town hall can be seen top right. The quantity of rolling stock in the goods yard is remarkable and the platforms of the railway station can be seen centre left.
