Crossleys Alms Houses, Halifax - DPC00481

Description

This housing was built for the the ex-employees of the the Crossley Carpet factory at Dean Clough. The Crossley family were enormously rich and very influential in the development of the town in the 19th century. Their high quality carpets were sold all over the world and at one time was one of the largest employers in Halifax.
