Title

The Drive, Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge. - WMH00377

Description

Undated postcard. View looking in the direction the Gate Lodge and Midgehole.

The Drive, built by Lord Savile in the mid-19th century, runs the length of the Crags from the Lodge at Midgehole, past Gibson Mill, to Lord Savile's shooting lodge at Walshaw Head. The woods were planted at the same time to enhance the drive’s appearance to impress Savile’s shooting guests.
