Title

Walshaw Dean Reservoirs - PEN00110

Description

Three moorland reservoirs (Lower, Middle and Upper) north of the minor road between Heptonstall and Nelson. The reservoirs of Walshaw Dean, were built in the first months of 1900. The water was used for the growing mill town of Halifax and entailed the building of a new town, Dawson City (later to become Heptonstall) after a ‘gold’ city in the Klondyke Gold Rush.
