Todmorden Antiquarian Society
Title
Todmorden Antiquarian Society
Description
Todmorden Antiquarian Society was founded in 1965 and has a current membership (2015) of around 60. Meetings are held in Todmorden Town Hall, fortnightly from October to May, to hear talks given by members and visiting speakers. These are often illustrated by slides or digital images. These lectures cover not only subjects relevant to Todmorden, its past and its environs, but also matters of wider historical interest. Visitors and prospective members can be assured of a friendly welcome at all meetings. One or two visits are made each year, usually in summer months, to places of historic note. Members old and new, prospective members and visitors are all welcome to take part in these outings. The Society is building a photographic record of Todmorden and Todmordians to which loans and / or contributions are very welcome. Booklets are published, occasionally, on aspects of local history / interest and are available from Todmorden Tourist Information Centre along with contact details of officers.
