Title
Denton Bridge, Kebroyd - TWA00215
Description
DENTON BRIDGE, Kebroyd. Below Kebroyd Mills the Lumb Brook is crossed by the main road between Sowerby Bridge and Ripponden at Denton Bridge, a high, stone, single-arch. This is probably the site of the ford over which Samuel Hill, the clothier, stated the wish in his will that a bridge should be built. Denton Bridge was built when the Turnpike Road was made in 1772 and was named after John Denton, who was a cotton spinner at the old Kebroyd Mill.
