Title
Owler Mill, Todmorden - PNH01107
Description
Built c1846, this was supposedly the first fully steam-powered mill in Midgelden Clough. A small, three storey stone built part with a central arched doorway is possibly a bit of the original mill. A three storey later 19C extension on the east side, and remains of a chimney at the rear.
PRESENT USE AND POTENTIAL: The mill is used by a boat builder and part of the upper storeys as domestic dwellings. However, it is about to change ownership, and is likely to become a car mechanic’s workshop.
