Framed Photograph - HLS01124

Description

Quote from the Hebden Bridge Times August 22nd 2003 'Angie Barrs was walking down Sandy Gate in Hebden Bridge recently when the driver of a skip lorry leaned out of his cab and yelled "D'ya know any of these people?" Hardly waiting for an answer, he drove off leaving her holding a framed group photograph whose only clue is the cabbage looking plant in the foreground. Just before he vroomed away, the driver said he had been clearing out "the Manse" and thought the local historical society might be interested in the picture.'

Possibly members of the Mitchell/Cousin/Gibson Family. Chris Barnett who is researching the family guesses that from the left on the back row: unknown, unknown, Mary E. Cousin (unmarried born 1822), Clara Mitchell (unmarried b 1859), William H and John C Mitchell (both unmarried b 1854/1855).
Front row l to r: Mary E. Mitchell (born 1847), Abraham Gibson (b 1827) they married in 1886, Sarah Ann Mitchell (born 1824, widowed 1859), James Calverley (born 1851), emma Michell (B 1852), they married in 1875.

The manse referred to could well be Cousinville in Wainsgale Lane which was built by the Mitchells.
