This is on Northgate, just before North Bridge, where the traffic lights are now, across from the end of North Bridge Street. The road that the van and car are heading towards is Cross Hills

This scene is almost unrecognisable from the Northgate of today as many of the buildings have since been demolished. The church building on the right appears to be Northgate End Chapel, built in 1871 and demolished in 1982.

This building was originally built in 1895 for the Halifax and Huddersfield Union Banking Company Ltd (aka The Union Bank). After merging with the Halifax Joint Stock Bank in 1910 it was amalgamated with Lloyds in 1919.
