Machpelah is on the right, Croft House in centre of the picture, Crossley Mill on the left, behind the chimney of which can be seen Queen's Terrace on Heptonstall Road.
This bridge takes the road from the main A646 (Hebden Bridge to Halifax) over the Rochdale Canal to the railway station. The top of the tower of Heptonstall church can be seen on the skyline.
Halifax Corporation tram in May 1911 just prior to the Hebden Urban District Council road widening improvements. Not much shelter from the elements for the driver. Commercial Street going off to the right.
