Photo was taken just after the motorway opened in 1971. Scammonden Bridge spans the Deanhead cutting carrying the B6114 (the former A6025) Elland to Buckstones road over the M62.

Top of the Buttress. You can see gravestones from the former Cross Lanes Methodist Chapel. The newly built houses are at the top of moss Lanes.

View over Mytholm showing Mytholm Hall, and the King Street cottages that were prone to flooding. Right hand end of two storey house opposite was a Co-op. Bungalow in centre bottom was originally a Dawson City hut that was stone clad.
